Technical Description

The UT12VA houses one HMP45C Temperature and RH Probe, and mounts to a tower via either a UT018 or UT018-5 Crossarm (purchased separately). This 12-plate naturally aspirated radiation shield is white, which reflects solar radiation. Its louvered construction allows air to pass freely through the shield thereby keeping the probe at or near ambient temperature.

The UT12VA can house sensors other than the HMP45C, but additional hardware is required (see Configuration tab for more information).

Compatibility

Sensors

The UT12VA houses one HMP45C or HMP35C Temperature and Relative Humidity Sensor or one 43347 Temperature Sensor. Existing UT12VA shields can be adapted to house a HMP50 or CS500 Temperature and Relative Humidity Sensor or a 107/108 Temperature Sensor with use of an adapter plate or split nut. However, a 6-plate shield (i.e., UT6P) is typically adequate to shield these smaller sensors.
