data logger communication failure

MJMagaji Nov 3, 2016 10:02 PM

I am using radio connection, the data logger use to communicate with desktop computer at about 130 metres away. I had done all the physical trouble shooting. The green light above the red power light indicator was not blinking, even that of adapter that connected with computer. Whenever I open the software for connection, it will take some time and showed a dialogue box indicating"data logger failed to connect, check data logger programme, or check the the clock. Please help me to solve the problems. Thanks

It would help if you would stick to one thread instead of creating so many. Did you go through the troubleshooting tips from Janet in your first post? https://www.campbellsci.com/forum?forum=1&l=thread&tid=3097 that said:

I'm guessing the troubleshooting may be both of the things listed above in the two blog links, but not sure. You said you are using a CR200X. What kind of communications? Is it over radio and what type? When was the last time this was working? What do you know may have changed since then?

You could also look at the logs. Make sure they are turned on to save to a file. They will give more details of what is failing. The message you are seeing is a general message that tells us only that the software isn't able to communicate with the station. The logs will give more details. If you don't know how to do this, you will need to tell us which software you are using. PC200W, PC400, or LoggerNet.

What kind of adapter connected to the computer are you talking about? I'm not sure if you are saying that it doesn't seem to be working.
