CS650 SDI-12 commands change.

I am plannig to use a combination of several reflectometers (CS650) in order to collect data related with water movement on soil profiles. Checking the user's manual (since I am definetely not familiar with these devices) I saw that several commands are available (aM1! to aM4!) for the CS650 devices, each command retrieves different types of information. I am particularly interested on the aM4! command. I have also checked the videos and tutorials regarding the 'transparent mode' in order to assign individual unique addresses to each probe (since they were not assigned by default). I would like to know if some one knows which command is the 'default' for the CS650 probes and how it can be changed (to aM4!). Any document which can help me to clarify these topics are very well received.

No change is needed in the sensor to get it to resond to the M4! command. You just need to change the command in your datalogger program. If you look at the CS650 in ShortCut, you will see there are options for which set of values you want back. ShortCut is picking the appropriate command.

I appreciate your answer however I am still a bit confused.

I can see the CS650 on ShortCut, however I cannot distinguish between the aM3! and aM4! modes. In ShortCut I can select all the variables I need (VWC, EC, T, P, PA, VR) however I cannot see if these values will be corrected (using the aM3! command) or not.  I need all the values even though they could seem erroneous in order to verify some properties (aM4!).

ShortCut is using the M4! command when you select  (VWC, EC, T, P, PA, VR).
