Overview

The CM215 is a wind sensor mount that allows the wind sensor to be attached to one of our retired aluminum tripods without using a crossarm. The sensor mount is reversible to accommodate wind sensors with either a 0.75- or 1.0-inch diameter.

The CM215 is compatible with our aluminum tripods only. Stainless steel versions of the CM110, CM115, and CM120 use the CM216 mount.

Technical Description

The CM215 provides a connection point for a sensor with a 0.75" or 1.0" IPS (1.0" or 1.32" OD) fitting (typically a wind sensor) to be attached to the top of an aluminum CM110, CM115, or CM120 Tripod.

The CM215 is compatible with our retired aluminum tripods only. Stainless steel versions of the CM110, CM115, and CM120 use the CM216 mount.

The CM215 consists of two sections of pipe; the external piece seats inside the top of the tripod mast and is secured to the mast by the lower bolt in the photo at right.  The internal piece seats inside the external piece, and is secured to the external piece by the upper bolt in the photo at right. The internal piece is "reversible" in that one end is milled to a 3/4" outside diameter and the other end is milled to a 1" diameter. The 1" end of the CM215 is shown protruding from the CM215 in the photo at right.

Please note that use of a lightning rod is recommended; a lightning rod can be attached to the Wind Sentry configuration but cannot be attached to a configuration that deploys a Wind Monitor (therefore, the Wind Monitor configuration is recommended for short-term deployments only).
