Campbell Scientific data loggers are mounted on the ocean floor and the backs of jet skis for research purposes in the estuary of Auckland, New Zealand. The research is a key part of an effort by the National Institute of Water & Atmospheric Research (NIWA) and the Earth Sciences Department of the University of Waikato to model the effects of cooling water discharges, as well as measure currents, waves, and sediment movements. The data loggers make measurements, control other research instrumentation, and provide central processing.
