Connecting multiple sensors into 12V channels

spheuser Dec 5, 2016 07:08 PM

Hello all,

This question may be extermely easy and I just having been looking in the right places.

I'm looking to free up the SW12V channel on our CR1000 dataloggers to insert the cell phone modem power source. To do this, I need to move 2 sensors that are currently in the SW12V channel into 12V channels that are each currently occupied.

The sensors in the 12V channels are a Vaisala WXT520 and a Vaisala HMP155. I'm looking to add a Delta-T ML3 soil moisture probe and a regular thermistor into these 12V channels as well. Should I be concerned about overuse on the datalogger (i.e. damage to the datalogger)? And if so, are there any solutions to have 4 sensors all in 12V power supply channels? Thanks for any help on this question!

Hi

I looked in the manual of the logger and have not found any indication, I have found only about SW12 terminal, with 900 mA at 20°C.

Which is the value of thermistor resistance? but I think, in any case, it will not the problem.

I do not remember if the WXT520 has the heaters for ice, this will be can cause problems!. However you could prepare an additional terminals string, proteced with a fuse, and pick up the power supply, directly from the battery.

It will result even easier to connect some devices, without confusion by using the CR1000 only two terminals.
